Otherness and the exploration of its ultimate meaning through perceptive and self-reflexive narrators is one of Ishiguro’s most common recurring themes. It is usually deeply incorporated into the body oft he text but often goes even further than a mere textual motif. The main aim of this essay is to show how this concept is contextualized and developed in the author’s latest novel, Never Let Me Go.
